As part of our commitment to continual updating and developing the facilities at AgroChemex we are currently installing a new purpose built state-of-the–art rainfall simulator. Five key parameters must be considered when considering the patterns of natural rainfall: The AgroChemex simulator operates in accordance with these variables. Through an effective utilisation of two rain generating atomiser systems utilising spinning disc and conventional nozzle technology, combined with a height adjustable rotating turntable, we are able to accurately simulate a wide range of different rainfall patterns, from light mist or drizzle through to tropical downpours. Just as important, the rainfall patterns are also reproducible.
Our ability to conduct rainfall studies with radio-labelled materials will also be an important consideration for some clients. The facility was fully installed and operational by the end of 2003. Validation studies are nearing completion with the first client studies completed in February 2004. |
